San Miguel County's GIS is an interactive mapping system.
The following tools/directions are just a few options you will be able to use when accessing this site:
Narrow down to a particular area on the map - Use the plus sign with your mouse on the map to click, drag, then release on a specific region of the county.
Find Lot Numbers and Owners Names on that map - Click on Layers on the top menu. Next select the folder of Layer needed, for example Click on Property, then check Lot Numbers. Select Owner Last Name for the owner of the property.
Locate Schools, Libraries, Roads and Ski Lifts - In the Layers Menu, Click on Notable Locations or Transportation. Select the information you want to see on the map.
Get more information on the property owner and address - Click on the "i" button just below the top menu, and click on the map with that tool where you want more information. Another screen should pop up that shows property location, owner name, and options to view more, like detailed property data.
Search for a property with little information - Click on Search in the top menu, then to the right find the "Search Wizard." Here, select the GO button for the information that you do know. It will take you to a screen where you can enter that data. Less will produce more results, for example if you know the name of the street is Adams Ranch Road, put in only Adams or Ranch, and more selections will appear. In some cases, things may have been data entered incorrectly, and typing the whole thing may leave you without the results you expect. Once you get the results you want, you can zoom in on the map by clicking "Zoom" or get more detailed information by clicking
"Property Data."
